Mother Earth is Your Greatest Healing Tool

earthing does a body goodIt seems that the earth itself may turn out to be our greatest natural healer. The earth it seems knows exactly what our bodies are in need of most and goes to work to heal that very issue.

Truth is, there are many systems in the body that are affected when we connect with the earth. Walking barefoot on the earth is natural for humans (similar results can also be achieved with leather shoes)…although you won’t get that luscious “feel” of Mother Earth caressing your feet as you walk.

Noted cardiologist Stephen Sinatra, MD. says, “I regard Earthing as the greatest health breakthrough in all my ears in medical practice. Regular grounding (another name for Earthing) restores the body’s natural electrical state, calms the nervous system, reduces inflammation, and improves circulation. No pill on Earth can do what Mother Earth does!” [Read more…]

Strength Training is Key to Shifting Body Weight and Shaping Your Body

woman strength trainingIf you are looking for ways to change your body, shift around and lose some of the excess weight you’ve been toting around then strength training is your key.

Hours and hours of cardio on end do very little to actually change your body. You may become slightly smaller if you are burning enough calories, but you’ll just be a smaller version of yourself.

In many cases, you might even find that you become not only smaller, but a softer, flabbier version of yourself. Not really much improvement.

Excessive cardio training does a great job of burning up lean muscle mass. Think of it this way, if you are training your body to exercise for long periods of time, it knows in order to do this effectively it needs to get rid of the densest tissue and the tissue that uses up the most energy. 2 Most Basic, Awesome and Effective Exercises Ever Invented

girl-deadliftWhile there are literally hundreds of strength training exercises to choose from, very few are actually worth doing. The few exercises that are worth doing are the exercises that provide the most bang for your buck.

In other words, the few exercises worth doing are your ticket to fast results. These special exercises could be called the “20%” Club”, they are the number one and two exercises that give you the best shaped legs and firm sexy butt.

Many are already familiar with the phrase “80% of business comes from 20% of your clients or customers.” As a result those 20% of clients or customers is what real smart companies concentrate on keeping happy.

This same type of philosophy can be applied to strength training. Trainees that ignore the 20% exercises that provide the most bang for their buck are the same trainees that never make any meaningful progress. They are neglecting the exercises that provide the greatest benefit and that’s a huge mistake!

They fail to recognize the fact that these 20% of exercises will produce 80% of their gains…in fact, this number is as high as 100% of gains. [Read more…]

What is Cellulite?

cellulite3What is cellulite?

In simple terms, cellulite is a type of fat tissue. Inside this fat tissue is connective tissue that protects our muscles and organs. When fats, fluids and toxins get trapped in this connective tissue they harden, creating pockets that appear through the skin as dimples. This is what we call cellulite. This condition occurs mostly in women due to the circular shaping of their fat cells.

Cellulite is not usually one’s favorite topic of conversation because it makes its appearance most often in the thighs, buttocks, breasts and abdominal areas. The dimples and pockets of cellulite are storing toxins.

Fortunately, this condition doesn’t directly affect your health, however, it is a sign (and one you need to pay attention to) that you are leading an unhealthy lifestyle. [Read more…]

Avoid “Skinny Fat Syndrome”

fad dietsOne of the biggest problems associated with crash diets is the issue with “skinny fat syndrome”.

Skinny fat syndrome occurs when someone is relatively thin overall but the go this way by burning up  lean muscle mass rather than losing body fat. In other words, they have dieted away their lean muscle tissue and have kept fat mass right in place.

For example:

An individual stands at 150 pounds with 45 pounds of body fat. This would mean that they are 30% fat total.

They decide to diet and lose 30 pounds and want to lose weight as fast as humanly possible so they begin cutting calories across the board never paying attention to nutrition.

In the end they lose 30 pounds, however in the process, they’ve actually lost 5 pounds of body fat and 25 pounds of muscle mass. Not exactly the perfect weight loss results, but they’ve lost those 30 pounds and they’re feeling pretty proud of their new lower number on the scale. [Read more…]

Rest is Critical for Workout Success

don't get fatMost people realize the importance of their work-outs but not everyone is aware of how important rest is and how it factors into the equation.

The belief that the more exercise you do the better just is not the case.

Believe it or not, lack of rest is one of the biggest contributing factors to people not reaching the goals that they have set for themselves.

It’s important to realize that when you are in the gym you are actually breaking your body down further and further. You create tiny micro tears that will then need to be repaired. It’s not only your muscles that you’re placing stress and strain on during a workout session but your ligaments and tendons as well. [Read more…]
