Exercise, Diet and Sleep are Equally Important

sleep1Sleep is your secret weapon when it comes to seeing the fastest rate of fat loss possible. Unfortunately with the lifestyles most lead in today’s busy world, sleep is most likely the last thing on your mind. It’s that long to-do list that keeps your attention.

Experiencing one night without good rest is tough enough but turn it into multiple nights in a row and your body and mind will be feeling it.

So, why is sleep so important if we want to continue to see fat loss?

Recovery: Without the sleep your body needs you will not recover as quickly between work-outs. Your body uses this “down” time to go into deep recovery mode and without it; your recovery rates are going to be much lower.

Not surprising “hormones” once again play a pivotal role in why you need sleep. The “growth hormone” is going to be released primarily when you are sleeping so you want to be doing everything you can to maximize its release. Growth hormone not only helps to improve the degree of muscle building taking place, but it is responsible for regenerating new body tissue and restoring worn out cells. It helps to ensure that you are maintaining a youthful body and appearance as best as possible. When the levels of this hormone are low in the body, increased aging will result.

This “anti-aging” hormone is released primarily during sleep…especially deep sleep. Without enough deep sleep regularly each night, your body cannot produce and release this valuable hormone and you won’t experience the results you should.

Metabolic Maintenance: Regular deep sleep is needed in order to maintain a strong metabolic rate as well. Without enough sleep, your metabolism will slow down which influences the rate at which you burn body fat.

Metabolic rate is influenced by a few factors, diet, work-out routines, and level of muscle mass and now sleep.

Optimizing your metabolism throughout the process of your diet and workout protocol is imperative, if you don’t, you are starting at a disadvantage. Losing fat is tough enough…we need all the help we can get.

Hunger Control: If you’ve ever had a night where you’ve woken from sleep after just a short while feeling hungrier than ever?

You eat more and more food but nothing satisfies the hunger present in your body.

So, what gives? Lack of sleep is the culprit once again.

When you don’t get enough sleep, you will find that not only is your hunger stronger, but the cravings are for carbohydrates; not just carbohydrates, but simple carbohydrates. This will severely hinder your plan.

Try as you might, without the proper amount of sleep, it will be “mission impossible” to stick to your diet. Simple carbs cause more hunger, so the hungrier you get, the more you eat and the cycle just perpetuates itself onward.

Sleep not only affects your body but it affects your mind as well. Your entire determination and motivation will start to falter and fail if you’re not sleeping enough on a day to day basis. Exhaustion will set in and you’ll hardly be able to make it through the day never mind doing an intense workout session.

Sleep revitalizes re-vitalizes and re-energizes and gives us the energy we need to face another day in a positive manner. Without sleep you are much more likely to toss in the towel completely.

To function at peak performance, eight hours sleep is superior but aim for at least seven hours each and every day.

If you are serious about getting results from all your hard work as well as optimal health, sleep is your answer.

It’s time to throw away everything you’ve ever been told about about diet and exercise and learn what it really takes to win the weight loss battle once and for all.
